Love it, hate it or laugh at it _ at least it’s inexpensive.

Consumers are opting for less expensive options like the much maligned meat in a can as a way to stretch out strained food budgets.

We still have a lot to learn about the healing powers of food. But this much we know: Chicken soup does help clear nasal clog. Ginger seems to settle stomachs, and honey lemon tea does wonders for a sore throat.

Buying food without questionable ingredients is hard; making cheese isn’t. I’m funny about my food: I like it to be made out of, you know, food. But, you might reasonably ask, isn’t that what the stuff we eat is made out of? Well, yes and no; more and more often the answer is no. Take sour cream.
